this tomato

we have a ton of little tiny tomatoes and even more flowers that will in a few weeks turn into ready to eat vine ripened dinners! i'm watching this little flower. each week i'll update with a new picture!

we're going on a Cicada hunt.... we're not scared....

every year we get a lot of cicada's who enjoy our trees as much as we do. we normally walk around and could the shells they leave behind on the trees, leaves, etc. (last years total was in the 40's) this year the kids took it to another level. yipee!

each child gave themselves jobs.... Cameron's jobs included knocking them off the tree with a large stick


actually touching the shells and transporting them

 and whenever possible chasing Mayden around the yard with them

Mayden's jobs included carrying the bug cage

and making this face (surprising for my little bug lover)


adorable little critter's aren't they?!?

Cameron thinks so. he's making a pile of them in our yard. 11 today. more tomorrow.
