i tried so hard not to laugh at this one but just couldn't do it... LOL!

recent writting

this morning i told Mayden "I need you to write me a letter sometime today" her reply was "i don't want to, i don't want to write anything today." then she paused and said "how are you going to make me write something?" wow. that is an excellent question but one i wasn't ready to answer for a few more years. so after i picked my jaw back up off the floor i left her alone. the rest of the day went on and we did some other less "school" like things. as i was putting Cameron to bed i asked her if she wanted to some reading or writing after he was down. she chose writing. on. her. own. ((YAY)) she is much more willing to "do school" in the evenings and writing a list about fun things seemed to be more interesting to her than writing a letter and i'm glad i thought of it because we can make lists of so many things now!

Saturday morning....

Me: "hey! why don't we pause this movie, get dressed, go to Wawa and get some donuts?!?"
May after a bit of a pause: "that sounds like a lot of work"

HAHA wow, too lazy to go and buy donuts?!?! where have i gone wrong?

the other night Chris and I were playing a "whisper down the lane" type game with May and it went like this...


Chris to Mayden: "put me to bed now, woman"
Mayden to me: "poop on the bed now, woman"


it took Chris a few seconds to realize she had said it out loud to me wrong so i was very confused!

in other curse word news Mayden said the "F word" a few weeks ago.... her very first one! i was home alone putting her to bed and I guess I was rushing the process. I turned on her music that she always has on when going to sleep and walked out of the room. she comes stomping into the kitchen where I was and yelled "it's to fu*king loud" at me. I think she had to pick my jaw up off the ground before we went any further with our conversation. I'll never forget that!

last night we went to the mall to eat dinner before heading over to Barnes & Noble... a great way to spend a rainy evening. May got her hands on 3 pennies to use for the "wishing fountain"

i leaned in so i could hear her three wishes

1) "i wish that everyone would be my friend"
2) "i wish that it would be Christmas again"
3) "i wish that it would be my birthday again"

that sounds about right!

me: you know, were going to plant seeds in this garden soon so you won't be able to walk around in it like we are now.

May: what are we going to plant?

me: first we'll plant spinach.

May: when are we going to plant Macaroni & Cheese?

Me: tomorrow we're going to go to Aunt Neeka's house for lunch

Mayden: what are we going to eat?

Me: she's going to make us sloppy joe's!!

Mayden: what's sloppy joe's?

Me: they are like burgers but with a different kind of meat.

Mayden: chocolate meat?!?!?

she was so SO excited at the thought of chocolate meat!

i don't know if this will be funny to read but it was super funny to hear!

getting ready to put Mayden in the bath (Camo is already in) i pour bubble bath into the tub...

Mayden: i don't want bubbles in the bath

me: but their fun!

Mayden: no, they go in my butt

me: oh Mayden, just get in... i already poured them in, it's not a big deal

Mayden: it IS a big deal!

Mayden says

an out of the blue conversation tonight at dinner:

Mayden: "this food is crap"

Me (and Chris): stunned & trying unsuccessfully not to laugh

Mayden: "what's crap?"

Me: "crap is like poop. when someone says crap they mean it's bad. for example when someone says a certain kind of food tastes like crap that means they don't like the way it tastes. it's not a really nice word to say.... especially for a 3 year old to say."

Mayden: after a long pause... "this table is crap."

Me: "ummm, Mayden that's not a nice thing to say please stop using that word!"

Mayden: "but it doesn't taste good."
