with Cameron very quickly becoming efficent in the English language there are a few things i don't want to forget.

Cameron loves to add an N to the end of lots of words like:
hungen (hungry)
watern (water)
dinosaurn (dinosaur)
tee-veen (tv)

we're pretty sure the German side won out in the gene war with this one.

he also says "go away" & "stop talkin' me" about 3,000 times a day. sweet child. although he does make up for it when he says "hi Mama, you're cute" and "i really need you" but he mostly says he "really needs me" when it's bed time and he doesn't want me to leave the room. i'll take it!

sewing room(s)

when i was a kid my Nana had a sewing room up on the third floor (it was a big house!) i thought a whole room for sewing was a bit over the top as an 8 year old but looking back ooooh how i wish i would have spent more time in that room. how i wish i had that room! so when we buy a house (or in my next life, which ever comes first) i'm going to root for a house that comes with a sewing craft room.


that and an out house for a natural light photography studio -- a girl can dream can't she?!


the following may look pathetic but trust me it's an upgrade to what i had going on less than 3 months ago.

 new storage space!

my dining room table sewing station that frequently gets held hostage in duck-man vs. batman battles

oh my poor girl

then of course if i want to iron anything i'm working on i need to high tail it to my bedroom where i have this lovely set up.

oh! and here is (part of) my photography studio. it's going to need a bigger corner soon!

goodbye pool

 it's that time of year again. time to say goodbye to our good friend pool. 

the boy takes his job very seriously and does excellent work

 parting is such sweet sorrow

such a good year for the pool. with temps so unbearable most of the summer we spend a good portion of waking life underwater. May taught herself to swim this summer (see below) and Cam taught himself to go underwater w/o holding his nose (see below). see ya next year!

so many firsts this week and so many great moments... but this one snuck in yesterday and i love it!

Cameron's new habit

 i think i noticed him doing this the other day but today i really noticed it. he runs his fingers through the back part of his hair (over and over and over) and he seems to do it when he first wakes up and also if he's nervous/shy.

i also caught him doing it during our little "first day of school" photo shoot! he just pulls and pulls... hopefully this won't last too long or he'll be a baldy before he's 4 (not 40)

school daze

my big girl had her first official day of Kindergarten today! well, as official as one can get when doing school at home. so here we go....................... read about our day here!

Cameron says

after explaning to Cam that he needed to take a bath tonight because his toes were so very dirty he agreed to the bath

after the bath he looks at his toes and says "my dirtys' gone!"

a little note: this is my grandmother (who is an regular reader of this blog and will probably kill me after seeing this) she, my pop-pop & aunt Sharon came to visit and while here grandmom got in the pool for the first time in years. as a child she was an avid swimmer so it was really good to see her back in the pool! for more photos of this visit click here
