fireflies!

here's a (fairly long) video of Cameron discovering fireflies (or lightning bugs, as we call them) there were so many out tonight i couldn't believe it! i found out rather quickly that its near impossible to get a picture of those little buggers. i haven't posted a video of either kid in awhile so you can hear how far he's come verbally in the last few months. remember May catching them last year?

a few things

last Thursday my good friend Julie (her husband & son too) welcomed the newest member into their family: Elle Alysse! she's super cute and super tiny. it's amazing how quickly you forget how small they come into this world. Cameron was a little more then a pound lighter then she was and yet i was so surprised at how little she looked. funny!



did anyone watch NBC's Dateline last Friday? they showed the craziest story i've seen in a long time. it was about two girls who were mistaken for each other in a car accident. one lived and one died. the details are so bizarre and heartbreaking for both families. i don't know if they have past Dateline episodes online for people to watch but if they do, you should! it's called: A Twist of Fate

Cameron finally popped his first top tooth thru today. the next one is only days away i'm sure. here's some video of him at lunch today (carrots) talking about Dada clearly only to get me to stop bugging him.

Cameron has finally found his voice! he's always been a talker just not a very loud talker. his sister found her "outside" voice around 4 months old... and subsequently hasn't gone back to her "inside" voice yet! May doesn't appreciate his competition as she spends most of the day "Suuuussssshhhhhhing" him. it always backfires on her as he gets so thrilled that she's giving him attention and he squeals with delight. it's pretty funny.



here is some video of Cam testing his lungs out, but this is actually mild compared to what he's capable of!

pee, speed walking & teeth brushing

i've turned up the heat on my exercise regement this week. last week was mostly medium pace walking, about 3 miles an hour (but i only went for 30 min so i'd get a mile and 1/2 done). this week i'm officially doing that fast walking that looks so ridiculous that you make fun of the person in your head as you pass by them. you know you do. anyway i went 2 miles in about 35 minutes and i gotta tell you it felt so good. the stress is rolling right off me. i will be skinny(er) in no time... if i could just stop eating sweets!!!

Mayden's potty training has taken off and we are in full swing. in fact i think today we will be going to the store to pick out some new big girl underware!! if she has no diaper on she will go on the potty, but if she has a diaper on she just goes in her diaper so i'm trying to keep her naked as much as possible for now. her reward? Jr. Mints. we should really invest in them because we are going thru them like nothing!

after months of waiting Cameron Jude Speer finally has teeth!!! i feel like such a dope for predicting that his teeth would be thru when he was 4 months old... welp 3.5 months later they are here! his two little bottom front ones popped thru yesterday. one is slightly more thru then the other one and they are just the cutest little teeth you have ever seen :o)

at 7 months old Mayden already had 4 teeth fully in. she got her first when she was 5 months old. she was a weird baby, Cam however is on the road to being totally normal (dispite his parents).
